Laser Vein Removal
Millions of people are affected by vericose and spider veins. These veins show up on the body as red, bluish, or purple veins that can sometimes have a dramatic effect on your appearance.
Spider and Varicose veins are often caused by the following factors: pregnancy, obesity, age, genetics, changes in hormones, and standing for prolonged periods of time. All these factors affect the ability of the veins to circulate the blood in the proper manner. Blood that is not pumped correctly pools back into the vein, which is how spider and varicose veins occur.
At Rothesay Laser Clinic, we offer treatments for both spider and vericose veins through certified technicians. Please read the Frequently Asked Questions below to find out more, and when you are ready, call us as (506) 847-8302 or email info@rothesaylaser.com for a free consultation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Spider Veins
What are Spider Veins?
Expanded veins that are thin and jagged, existing close enough to the surface of the skin that they are visible, are called spider veins. Red or blue, one or two spider veins can appear in a single area, or they can multiply into a high number that extend across a large area. They typically appear on the legs and face, but can also appear on other parts of the body and are considered unsightly by many. However, unlike varicose veins, spider veins are not considered a serious threat to one's health, and are generally more of a cosmetic nuisance.
How does Laser Spider Vein removal work?
This laser has a wavelength that targets hemoglobin or blood. Each vessel is traced with pulses of laser light. As the blood in the vessel absorbs the energy, heat is created and the vessel wall is destroyed. The vein will die and the body will clear away the tissue as it would clear away a bruise. How long will it take for my spider veins to disappear when treated with laser?
Each client's body will have its own time schedule for how quickly veins will be reabsorbed. This could range from days to weeks and possibly months. How many laser treatments will I need for spider veins?
Clients often differ in what they want out of their treatment. Some want their veins completely gone; others may want them to just look better. While many clients may need only one treatment to accomplish their goal, others should expect 2 or more treatments for clearing. Treatments are usually 6 weeks to 6 months apart.
Will my treated veins come back?
Once a vein is completely dead and reabsorbed, it should be gone. However, a person who has already made spider veins may have the tendency to make more in the future. Any newly developing vein can be quickly treated.
Are there any activity restrictions immediately after treatment of spider veins?
You may continue with normal daily activities, however, you need to refrain from hot baths or exercise for 3 days.Who will be performing the laser treatments for spider veins?
A certified laser specialists will perform the treatments. She has all the training necessary to offer you sound advice and knowledgeable treatment. What are your guidelines on privacy?
Our clients are looking for trusting, professional, skilled, friendly clinicians and that is what our clients find at Rothesay Laser Clinic. Be assured we follow privacy guidelines and will not disclose any information about our clients.
Do you offer complimentary consultations for spider veins?

Depending on what the client is looking to treat, it may be possible to have a laser treatment for spider veins performed the same day, schedules permitting.
Varicose VeinsWhat are Varicose Veins?
Blood is carried away from the heart by arteries and is returned to the heart by veins (which have one-way valves). There are many networks of veins in the legs, which return blood to the heart. The deep veins in the legs carry 90% of the blood to the heart. These veins do not become varicose because the muscle layers, which surround them, protect the walls of these veins. The surface or superficial veins carry 10% of the blood returning to the heart. If the valves in these veins do not function well, blood doesn't flow efficiently. The veins become enlarged because they are congested with blood. These enlarged veins are commonly called spider veins or varicose veins depending on their size. Varicose veins are larger distended veins that are located somewhat deeper than spider veins. Varicose veins are no longer able to function properly and other normal veins have taken over for them. Why treat varicose veins?
Varicose veins are a hindrance to the circulation. Treatment of varicose veins aims at improving the circulation. Also people with venous disease seek cosmetic treatment to reduce the appearance of varicose. What are symptoms of varicose veins?
Varicose veins are the leading cause of leg pain in an otherwise healthy adult population. Varicose veins are more painful while they are forming because the walls of these veins are stretching. The pain can often be a burning sensation. The pain can subside for several years once the walls of the veins have stretched beyond their elasticity. At this time, heaviness rather than pain can be felt. What contributes to the Formation of Varicose Veins?
Spider and Varicose veins are often caused by the following factors: pregnancy, obesity, age, genetics, changes in hormones, and standing for prolonged periods of time. All these factors affect the ability of the veins to circulate the blood in the proper manner. Blood that is not pumped correctly pools back into the vein, which is how spider and varicose veins occur.Does Rothesay Laser Clinic treat varicose veins?
